A novel aerosol method for the production of alighed carbon nanotubes was presented. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) with fairly uniform diameters and aligned MWNT bundles were obtained by using solutions of organometallics such as ferrocene in hydrocarbon solvents. A hollow and multi-walled structure was observed with diameter ranging from 15 to 50 nm, leading aspect ratio to be over 200.
