Excessive environmental vibrations generated by urban traffic pose adverse effects on nearby structures and residents. These vibrations are predominantly carried by surface waves, which are localized within the surface layer of soil. The isolation of surface waves through the embedding of periodic wave barriers in soils between the source and the receiver has gained significant attention in recent years.
