During major metrological events, such as typhoons, a wind turbine will frequently cutout and re-cutin as wind speed fluctuates around the cutout speed. Repeated cutouts can undermine the reliability and the safety of a wind turbine. A dead band of wind speed between cutout and re-cutin speeds can be utilized to prevent frequent cutouts.
