Effect of RE-N on the solidification microstructures of Fe-B-Ti alloy containing 0.3%C, 2.0%B, and 1.0% (mass fraction)Ti was investigated by optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The results indicate that the solidification microstructures of Fe-B-Ti alloy consist of Fe2B, TiB2, pearlite, ferrite and martensite. The shape of Fe2B is continuous and netlike. TiB2 is distributed in the form of independent blocks. The amount of TiB2 is obviously less than that of Fe2B. After modification with R...
