An adaptive single-phase auto-reclosing method based on the moving average filter (MAF)-quadrature signal generator (QSG) is developed to determine secondary arc extinction time for high-voltage transmission lines with shunt reactors. Firstly, the difference between permanent and transient faults is derived and analyzed by the equivalent circuit model. Then, MAF-QSG is utilized to extract these features from the fault voltage.
