p-Isopropylphenol was synthesized by catalytic transfer dehydrogenation with 5% Pd/C using 4-isopropylcyclohexenone as the materia1 and the hydrogen offer, industrial dipentene as the hydrogen acceptor and the solvent. The reactions were carried out directly under reflux condition. The effects of an amount of 5%Pd/C, the reaction time and reaction temperature were investigated.
