This study employed the k – ω Shear StressTransport turbulence model and the Arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian dynamic mesh method in OpenFOAM to investigate the effects of the oscillation frequency ratio ( f r ) on flow characteristics around a square cylinder at Re = 2.2 × 10 4 . The results revealed that the time-averaged drag coefficient ( ⁠ C d ¯ ⁠ ) and the Root Mean Square (RMS) of the lift coefficient ( ⁠ C l ′ ⁠ ) reached the peak values when f r = 1.0.
