Abstract: Since the L2 motivational self system theory was proposed, related research has been increasing day by day due to its innovativeness and relevance. This article summarizes and analyzes 46 papers on L2 self system research published in domestic academic journals from 2009 to 2020 from four aspects: overall research trends, research methods, research content, and research objects.
