The paper investigates the influence of open motor skill and close motor skill on college students' self-esteem and self- handicapping. 5 derivative questionnaires are used specific for the measurement of self-esteem and self-handicapping. The results show that the main effects are significant between open skill group, close skill group and control group on the variables of self- handicapping, sport ability, physical condition, body attraction and physical quality.
