Biological Aerated Filters (BAFs) are a promising biological oxidation technology for wastewater treatment and reuse. The characteristics of packing media in BAFs considerably affect the removal of pollutants. This study aims to compare and investigate the pollutant removal performance of two identical bench-scale BAFs, BTF 1 and BTF 2, to evaluate the feasibility of employing polyurethane sponge as BAF media.
