In summary, nanoflaky Te-doped Bi2MoO6 photocatalyst has been synthesized via a facile hydrothermal route, and nonmetal atoms Te are successfully incorporated into the Bi2MoO6 lattice with the substitution of Te4+ to Mo6+. Te-doping does not cause the detectable band gap narrowing of Bi2MoO6. However, inhomogeneous lattice distortion is determined to be more and more severe with increasing Te-doping concentration in Bi2MoO6, presenting larger changes in lattice parameter b and smaller changes
