摘要:
The ions exchange membrane is the key component in the redox flow battery (RFB), which determines the cycle life and the cost of RFB. Herein, we successfully prepared a low-cost K + formed sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK-K) membrane for the neutral Zn-Fe redox flow battery (ZFB) by solution casting method. The ZFB based on our SPEEK-K membrane shows outstanding performance with the coulombic efficiency and energy efficiency over 95% and 78%, respectively, at a high current density of 40 mA cm −2 . The cost of SPEEK-K membrane for ZFB is also investigated, compared with commercial Nafion 117 membrane. The comprehensive performance of the SPEEK-K membrane for high energy density ZFB makes this membrane as one of the promising candidates for next generation large-scale energy storage system. © 2018 Elsevier B.V.

摘要:
The commercial Nafion proton exchange membranes are most widely used in vanadium redox flow batteries (VRBs). However, their poor ion selectivity and high cost significantly limits the further development of the VRB. Herein, a green biopolymer, lignin, was firstly employed as the additive in the pristine SPEEK membrane to replace the Nafion membrane for the VRB applications. It is found that the abundant hydroxyl groups in lignin not only facilitate the dispersion of the lignin in the SPEEK matrix, but also significantly improve the proton conductivity and ion selectivity of the membrane. With these merits, the VRB single cell based on the SPEEK/lignin membrane exhibits 95.95% and 71.47% capacity retention after 100 and 300 cycles under 120 mA cm−2, respectively. Moreover, its ultrahigh coulombic efficiency (over 99.5%) and energy efficiency (over 83.5%) indicate the outstanding capability of ion selectivity and the superb protons conductivity of the membrane. The excellent stability, low cost, and remarkable device performance of the composite membrane make it a promising candidate for the next generation larger-scale VRB applications. © 2018 Elsevier B.V.

摘要:
Graphene deposited on the surface of a carbon felt (CF) using a solution coating method has been developed as a high-performance positive electrode for an all vanadium redox flow battery (VRB). A key to obtain excellent electrochemical activity towards the VO2+/VO2+ redox couple is to wrap the CF using the graphene with high specific surface area and superb conductivity. It is found that the dipping times of CF into the graphene/Nafion solution significantly affect its electrochemical activity. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) results indicate that with 5 dipping times, the graphene coated CF (G/CF) exhibits the highest peak current and lowest peak potential difference towards the VO2+/VO2+ redox couple. More importantly, the VRB assembled with our novel G/CF cathodic electrode shows a decreased polarization during charge/discharge process compared with the control VRB with the pristine CF. Consequently, both the voltage efficiency and energy efficiency of the VRB with G/CF electrode have increased compared to the one with pristine CF. Our work provides a simple solution coating process to fabricate graphene modified CF electrode for VRB with high performance and this simple method is believed to be promising in other electrocatalysts applications.

摘要:
Proton exchange membrane is the key factor of vanadium redox flow battery (VRB) as their stability largely determine the lifetime of the VRB. In this study, a SPEEK/MWCNTs-OH composite membrane with ultrahigh stability is constructed by blending sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) with multi-walled carbon nanotubes toward VRB application. The carbon nanotubes disperse homogeneously in the SPEEK matrix with the assistance of hydroxyl group. The blended membrane exhibits 94.2 and 73.0% capacity retention after 100 and 500 cycles, respectively in a VRB single cell with coulombic efficiency of over 99.4% at 60 mA cm-2 indicating outstanding capability of reducing the permeability of vanadium ions and enhancing the transport of protons. The ultrahigh stability and low cost of the composite membrane make it a competent candidate for the next generation larger-scale vanadium redox flow battery. © 2018 Ding, Ling, Yuan, Cheng, Wu, Chao, Sun, Yan and Jia.

Ni2 +-Er3 + co-doped glass ceramics containing ZnGa2O4 nanocrystals were fabricated by in situ controlled crystallization method. The adverse energy transfer between Ni2 + and Er3 + could be suppressed in the ZnGa2O4 glass ceramics. And the super-broadband infrared luminescence with full width at half maximum (FWHM) of about 400 nm covering 1.1–1.7 μm wavelength region was observed in Ni2 +-Er3 + co-doped glass ceramics. The two lifetimes of 1NE-GC950 revealed that two luminescence mechanism involved in the luminescence process, Ni2 +: 3T2g (3F) → 3A2g (3F) and Er3 +: 4I13/2 → 4I15/2 respectively. Compared to that in the Ni2 +/Er3 + co-doped glass ceramic containing γ-Ga2O3 and LaF3 nanocrystals, the nanocrystals in the present paper is just only one, ZnGa2O4 nanocrystals, and it could also present super-broadband luminescence. © 2017

The new composite transparent spinel silicate glass–ceramics containing Ni2+-doped ZnGa2O4 and solid solution MgxZn1−xGa2O4 nanocrystals were fabricated by in situ controlled crystallization method. After heat treatment, the crystal phase content of ZnGa2O4 increase with increasing heat treatment temperature, and the Mg2+ ions could enter the crystal lattice of ZnGa2O4 to replace the Zn2+ ions and form a new solid solution MgxZn1−xGa2O4. The coordination environment of Ni2+ was changed from tetrahedral in glasses to octahedral sites in glass ceramics. The super-broadband infrared luminescence with full width at half maximum (FWHM) of about 400nm overing 1.1–1.7μm wavelength region and fluorescent lifetime of about 480μs were observed from the glass ceramics containing MgxZn1−xGa2O4 nanocrystals. It is probably due to the variety of solid solution structure making Ni2+ ions enter two different octahedral sites. At the same time, the impact of heat treatment temperature and the concentration of NiO on peak position and intensity were also discussed. The results demonstrate that the method presented may be an effective way to fabricate super-broadband optical amplifiers and tunable lasers. © 2016 Elsevier B.V.

Effects of ZrO2, La2O3, CeO2, Yb2O3 and V2O5 on the crystallization kinetics, microstructure and mechanical properties of mica glass-ceramics were investigated by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and microhardness tester. Results show that bulk crystallization can be obtained by introducing proper nucleation agents into the glass. Both Ozawa method and Kissinger method are suitable for analyzing the crystallization kinetics of mica glass-ceramic. The addition of nucleation agents has little influence on the value of n, keeping two-dimensional crystal growth mechanism. ZrO2 and V2O5 are best nucleation agents in mica system. The increase of crystallization temperature is helpful for the increase of aspect ratio, and the microstructure of the glass-ceramics becomes interconnected, which contributes the improvement of the machinability of the glass-ceramics. Microhardness (Hv), cutting energy (μ1) and machinability parameter (m) can be used for estimating the machinability of mica glass-ceramics. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

The effects of MO (MBa, Mg, Ca) on the crystallization of B2O3–Al2O3–SiO2 glass-ceramics were investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dilatometer. MO can effectively facilitate the formation of B2O3–Al2O3–SiO2 glass which is influenced by the ratio of B2O3/SiO2, and the crystallization capacity of the glass turns to weaker with the decreasing of B2O3/SiO2 ratio. The main crystal phase is Al4B2O9 when the glass is heat-treated at 800 °C, and Al4B2O9 phase could transfer into Al18B4O33 with the heat-treated temperature increasing to 1100 °C. The calculation of crystallization activation energy (E) shows that crystallinity follows the order of CaO < MgO < BaO, and the Avrami parameter n is higher than 4, which indicate the crystallization of B2O3–Al2O3–SiO2 glass to be bulk nucleation with three-dimensional crystal growth. The addition of MO has evident effects on the main crystalline phase and the morphology of the crystals.

采用熔融冷淬法制备了Bi2O3.B2O3(30 mol%≤Bi2O3≤60 mol%)二元系统玻璃.运用非等温DSC分析以及S(S)atava和Ozawa-Chen方法研究了Bi2O3-B2O3玻璃的非等温析晶特性,并计算了玻璃的析晶动力学参数.结果表明,在50 mol%≤Bi2O3≤60 mol%范围内,玻璃晶化热处理后可析出针状BiBO3晶体,是原位受控晶化法制备BiBO3晶体的最佳组成范围.添加La2O3和Sm2O3,有助于抑制高聚合度的铋硼酸盐晶体的析出,促进BiBO3晶体的形成;而添加Yb2O3的铋硼酸盐玻璃,晶化热处理后以颗粒状的Bi6810O24晶体为主,不利于BiBO3晶体的析出.对稀土掺杂铋硼酸盐玻璃样品在460~540℃间热处理5 h,可获得表面析晶的透明玻璃样品.

摘要:
In(OH)3 and InOOH crystals were synthesized at different temperatures by diglycol-mediated solvothermal processes. Their phase structures, morphologies and growth mechanisms were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and chemical analysis. A small quantity of ((H2O)3In)Cl3 was observed in In(OH)3 crystals, which resulted in formation of In(OH)3 crystals with complicated shapes and morphologies. In(OH)3 grew along [1 0 0] direction, while ((H2O)3In)Cl3 grew preferentially along several crystal directions. In-situ transformation from both In(OH)3 and ((H2O)3In)Cl3 to InOOH developed at temperature higher than 140°C, consequently InOOH nanoparticles partly inherited the morphologies of In(OH)3 nanorods. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. Bi2O3·B2O3 glasses doped with rare-earth oxides (RE2O3) (RE3+ = La3+, Pr3+, Sm3+, Gd3+, Er3+ and Yb3+) were prepared by the melting-quenching method. The relationships between composition and properties were demonstrated by IR, DSC, XRD and SEM analysis. The results show that the network structure resembles that of undoped Bi2O3·B2O3 glass, composing of [BO3], [BO4] and [BiO6] units. RE2O3 stabilizes the glass structure as a modifier. Transition temperature (Tg) increases linearly with cationic field strength (CFS) of RE3+. La2O3, Pr2O3, Sm2O3 and Gd2O3 are benefit to promote the formation of BiBO3 crystal. When Er2O3 and Yb2O3 are introduced, respectively, the main crystal phase changes to Bi6B10O24. Transparent surface crystallized samples are obtained by reheating at 460-540 °C for 5 h. In this case, needle like BiBO3 crystal or rare-earth-doped BiBO3 crystal (PrxBi1-xBO3 and GdxBi1-xBO3) are observed, which is promising for non-linear optical application. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. 摘要:
The influences of B2O3/SiO2 ratio and different alkali earth metal oxides MO (M= Ba, Mg, Ca) on the crystallization behavior of B2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 (BAS) glass were investigated by means of DSC, XRD and SEM. With the reduction of B2O3/SiO2 ratio, the crystallization activation energy increases at first and then decreases, reaching the minimum value of 375.4 kJ·mol-1 when the B2O3/SiO2 ratio is 2.2. The crystalline indices (n) are all more than 4, which indicates that the glass is in bulk crystallization. When the glass was heated to 800°C, the primary precipitated crystalline phase was Al4B2O9. With the increase of temperature up to 1100°C, Al18B4O33 and Al5BO9 appeared and became the major crystalline phases in BAS glass-ceramics.

Bi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>·2B<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> glasses doped with La<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> and Er<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> were prepared by the melting-quenching method with AR-grade oxides. IR analysis was used to investigate the glass network structure. The characteristic temperatures including the glass transition temperature (T<inf>g</inf>), crystallization temperature (T<inf>p</inf>), and melting temperature (T<inf>m</inf>) were estimated by DSC. The coefficient of thermal expansion (α), mass density (D), and Vickers hardness (H<inf>v</inf>) were also measured. The results show that the basic network structure of Bi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>·2B<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> glasses doped with rare-earth oxides consists of chains composed of [BO<inf>3</inf>], [BO<inf>4</inf>], and [BiO<inf>6</inf>] units. La<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> and Er<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> act as network modifiers. As the doping concentrations of the rare-earth oxides were increased, T<inf>g</inf> increased and αdecreased, indicating that a more rigid glass was obtained. Er<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> reduces the melting temperature and prevents glass crystallization. La<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> contributes to the improvement of the microhardness of Bi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>·2B<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> glass. ©2007 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

摘要:
综述了氧化锌电阻片的导电机理、老化机理、添加剂以及制备工艺等方面的研究进展,并从三方面指出了高性能氧化锌电阻片的发展趋势.①提高ZnO粉体的质量.如制备纯度高、粒径分布好、易于分散的纳米ZnO粉体.特别是将其他掺杂成分如Bi2O3等在制粉过程引入,制备纳米复合粉末,将可从根本上改善掺杂成分的均匀性.从而大幅度地提高氧化锌电阻片的性能;②采用新的烧结工艺,如微波或微波等离子烧结氧化锌电阻片,已展示良好的应用前景,但还存在工艺控制稳定性和规模化生产等问题.因此,应进一步探讨和完善新的烧结工艺,以降低烧结能耗,提高烧成质量和产品合格率;③开发高电位梯度的氧化锌电阻片是电网系统用避雷器小型化的关键,特别对超高压、特高压输变电工程意义重大;④加强相关基础理论的研究,尤其是晶界现象、导电机理、失效模式及其与显微结构关系的研究.

摘要:
用非晶原位晶化法制备纳米陶瓷可克服粉末烧结法中组成不均匀、存在残留气孔和晶粒在烧结过程中快速长大等难题,具有对起始原料的粒度要求不高、晶相含量、结晶形貌和晶粒尺寸可控等优点.本文以天然矿物和工业废渣为主要原料,将粗的原料在1350~1550℃高温下熔融为均质的玻璃体,成型并退火后在适宜的热处理制度下进行核化和晶化,获得了组成均匀、结构致密、晶粒尺寸在纳米或亚微米级的陶瓷材料.结果表明:以CaF2为晶核剂可获得具有球状纳米级晶粒的显微结构,主晶相为硅灰石(β-CaSiO3)和透辉石(CaMg(SiO3)2);加入钢渣和高炉渣可得到具有针柱状结晶的微晶陶瓷,其显微硬度超过12 GPa,弯曲强度达366 MPa:引入10%和15%ZrO2的Al2O3-SiO2-ZrO2系玻璃经1200℃晶化处理后具有显著不同的显微结构.

Lead borate sealing glasses, composed of 30-75PbO, 20-65B2O3, 0-10ZnO, 1-5Bi2O3 and 0-4GeO2 in mole percent, were prepared by conventional melting-quenching method. Influence of PbO/B2O3 ratios and the content of oxide additives on sealing temperature, thermal expansion properties, thermal stabilities and mechanical properties of lead borate glass were investigated by IR, DSC, thermal expansion and mechanical measurement. Results indicate that the ratio of PbO/B2O3, both as the main glass formers, had crucial influence on network structure of lead borate glass. An appropriate proportion of PbO/B2O3, ZnO and GeO2 are beneficial to lower sealing temperature and stabilize the glass against devitrification. When 1 mol% GeO2 is introduced, the glass possesses the highest stability and lowest sealing temperature (400 °C), which is desirable for low-temperature sealing. Bi2O3 has little effects on the melting temperature and sealing temperature, while it helps to improve mechanical properties of lead borate glasses. Only the introduction of GeO2 causes a little tendency for crystallization. The modified Johnson-Mehl-Avrami (JMA) equation was used to describe the crystallization kinetics of GeO2 doped lead borate glasses. The precipitation of crystals before melting is a block for the decrease of sealing temperature. Furthermore the adjustability of the coefficient of thermal expansion caused by the additives would expand applications of lead borate glass. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Structure and crystallization kinetics of PbO-B<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> glasses containing 10-80 mol% PbO were investigated. The analyses of IR spectra reveal that PbO causes a change in the short-range order structure of the borate matrix. Between 10 &le PbO &le 20 mol%, PbO only acts as a network modifier. With the increase of PbO content, a progressive conversion of [BO<inf>3</inf>] to [BO<inf>4</inf>] units occurs and this promotes the formation of boron-oxygen rings, composed of the connection of bridge oxygen between [BO<inf>3</inf>] and [BO<inf>4</inf>] units. When the content is over 60 mol%, PbO plays the role of glass former. Four possible structure models have been suggested to explain the effects of PbO on glass network: (a) three coordinated boroxol rings modified by Pb<sup>2+</sup>;(b) formation of Pb{single bond}O{single bond}B covalent bands;(c) bridge networks between [BO<inf>3</inf>] and [BO<inf>4</inf>] units;(d) complex structures of Pb<sup>2+</sup> modified boron-oxygen rings and chains. Moreover, The crystallization kinetics of PbO-B<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> glasses was characterized by DSC analyses. When PbO ≥50 mol%, the increase of PbO leads to a decrease of thermal stabilities of the glasses. The increase of B<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> contributes to the increase trends to crystallization of glasses. ©2006.
