24-h movement behaviors;Physical fitness;College students;Compositional data;Isotemporal substitution
摘要:
OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to provide theoretical and empirical support for promoting physical fitness enhancement and implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions on university campuses. Through a rigorous compositional data analysis framework combined with isotemporal substitution model (ISM), we systematically examined the associations between 24-h movement behaviors and physical fitness among college students. METHODS: This study employed a stratified random cluster sampling design to recruit 3,974 participants from the physical education classes at a technological university located in Central South China during the 2022-2023 academic year. Data collection comprised two standardized assessments. The 24-h movement behaviors Questionnaire (24HMBQ) was administered to quantify five critical domains of daily movement patterns: sleep (SLE), sedentary behavior (SED), light physical activity (LPA), moderate physical activity (MPA), and vigorous physical activity (VPA). The participants' physical fitness was assesed against the Chinese National Student Physical Fitness Standards (CNPFSS). Employing compositional isotemporal substitution analysis, this study examined the dose-response relationship between 24-h movement behaviors and physical fitness in college students. RESULTS: Compositional regression analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and the total physical fitness test score among total students, science students, male students, and male science students (all P < 0.05). MVPA exhibited consistent positive correlations with indicators in sit-and-reach, standing long jump, and pull-up tests among total students, while demonstrating a negative correlation with indicators for 50-m and 800/1000-m run (all P < 0.05). Meanwhile, LPA was found to be positively linked to indicators in vital capacity and 800/100m run (all P < 0.05). ISM revealed that reallocating 30min from LPA, sleep, and SED to MVPA significantly enhanced the total physical fitness test scores for science students, male students, and male science students (all P < 0.05). Furthermore, substituting 60min of MVPA for other activity behaviors led to significant improvements in the total physical fitness test scores for the total students, as well as these three subgroups(all P < 0.05). In the dose-response analysis, a symmetrical pattern emerged when substituting MVPA for other activities, with respect to the total physical fitness test score. For the total student cohort, the substitution duration displayed a positive correlation with the test score, peaking at 50min within the range of -40 to + 50min. For science students, male students, and male science students, the peak correlation occurred at 45min within the range of -40 to + 45min. CONCLUSION: For students in technological universities, it is imperative to enhance both MVPA and LPA, with a stronger focus on increasing MVPA. Additionally, the frequency of MVPA during 45-min physical education classes should be intensified.

摘要:
BACKGROUND: This study investigates the complex relationships between sports media use (SMU), sports participation behavior (SPB), and sports commitment. With the increasing consumption of sports media, it is essential to understand both the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of how media engagement correlates with participation and long-term commitment to sports. OBJECTIVES: The study aims to investigate the relationship between SMU and SPB, as well as the mediating role of SPB in sports commitment, using a mixed-methods approach. Additionally, it explores individuals' lived experiences to provide deeper insights into how media shapes engagement and commitment. METHOD: A mixed-methods design was employed, integrating quantitative and qualitative data. A survey of 484 participants from diverse demographic backgrounds was conducted, and structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the relationships among variables. To complement these findings, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a subset of participants to explore their narratives surrounding media roles, sports behavior, and commitment. Thematic analysis was applied to interpret qualitative data. RESULTS: Quantitative findings revealed significant positive relationships between SMU and SPB and between SMU and sports commitment. SPB was found to partially mediate the relationship between SMU and sports commitment. The qualitative findings supported these results, highlighting key themes such as motivation, role modeling, and identity formation through media exposure. Participants described how sports media inspired them to engage in sports and reinforced their long-term commitment. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that SMU plays a significant role in fostering sports participation and commitment, with SPB as a key mediator. The integration of qualitative insights strengthens these findings by illustrating the personal experiences and psychological mechanisms that drive engagement. These results underscore the potential of sports media for promoting sustained participation and commitment, offering practical implications for policymakers, educators, and sports organizations aiming to leverage media for greater sports engagement. Future research should explore cultural differences and the role of specific media content types to refine further our understanding of the media's correlation with sports behavior.

摘要:
Watching basketball game videos is an important reference for coaches to analyze the team's tactics. Detecting the athletes' actions on the court in real time through an object detection algorithm can help coaches find team problems and formulate solutions. Aiming at the problems of fewer basketball players' action detection datasets and the difficulty of action detection, this paper proposes a dataset of basketball players' action detection, BPAD (basketball player action dataset), and an object detection algorithm, YOLOSS (YOLOv4 SimSE and SPPFCSPCG), in which the BPAD dataset consists of 2,151 pictures, which are obtained by extracting the videos of college basketball teams' matches and annotated with the Labelimg tool, and include three categories, namely, walk, run, and defense. The YOLOSS algorithm is based on YOLOv4, with the more efficient Ghostnet as the backbone of the model, and add a new hybrid attention module SimSE and a new spatial feature pyramid pooling module SPPFCSPCG. YOLOSS can effectively improves the detection algorithm's ability to recognize the typical basketball actions of athletes in the video stream-run, defense, and walk. The recognition ability of the YOLOSS algorithm on the BPAD dataset is as high as 82.4% mAP50, which can clearly express the action of each player on the court. By comparing the results of various experiments, it is proved that YOLOSS, the object detection algorithm proposed in this paper, can effectively detect the actions of basketball players.
摘要:
This study focuses on the intricate connections among youth sports, personal development, and skill acquisition in contemporary China. Building upon established theoretical frameworks, the study aims to unravel the intricate interplay among various variables. Employing a robust methodology that accounts for mediation and moderation effects and with a sample of 808 individuals representing diverse demographics, the findings shed light on the significant influence of family structure, particularly the prevalence of extended family arrangements, on an individual's character development. Furthermore, the study underscores the pivotal role of personal characteristics, particularly self-esteem, in shaping admirable traits. The research identifies several contributing factors to positive character development, including active participation in sports, parental support, accessibility to sports facilities, positive peer influence, and high self-esteem. Parents play a crucial role in mitigating the adverse effects of peer pressure by offering positive reinforcement and serving as role models. These findings hold important implications for youth development programs, emphasizing the vital role of parents in guiding character development, particularly in the context of peer pressure.
